Frequently Asked Questions About Our Screen Printing Artwork Services
Whether your design is hand-drawn or created on a computer, we need to take your final artwork and separate each color in the design to output film positives. From these separate color films, we will create printing screens. The fewer colors we need to print, the less your cost will be. If possible, try to limit the colors in your design in order to save money.
What kind of files do you accept?
Here is a detailed description of what types of files we accept:
.ai – Adobe Illustrator (CS5 or lower): Please be sure all fonts have been outlined and any embedded images are included.
.eps – PostScript File: Again, be sure all fonts are outlined.
.psd – Adobe Photoshop: Don’t flatten layers, if possible. Be sure your image is at least 200 dpi at the actual print size (300dpi is even better). Include all fonts if applicable.
.pdf – Portable Document File: Try to use the highest resolution possible.
.jpg – JPEG Image: The higher the resolution, the better. A small 72dpi image off the Internet isn’t usually sufficient. Try to save your image at its best setting.
Other files are accepted, but be aware that any work we need to do to it may incur an art fee of $50 per hour billed in 15-minute increments.
Do you offer design services for creating screen printing artwork?
Yes. There is a $50 per hour charge and it is billed in 15-minute increments. If needed, an approximate cost can be provided before your project is started. More details can be found on our graphic design service page.
